Bryan J. Tigner, MD
Otolaryngologist
Dr. Tigner received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee, where he graduated as a Roddy Scholar. He continued his medical education at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis, Tennessee. While in medical school, Dr. Tigner was awarded the Gore Scholarship as well as an NIH student research grant. He received his otolaryngology training at the University of Texas Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
Dr Tigner received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee, where he graduated as a Roddy Scholar. He continued his education at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, earning his doctoral degree in medicine. He received his otolaryngology training at the University of Texas Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, training under national and international leaders in the fields of sinus disease and surgery, otolaryngic allergy, head and neck cancer and otology. Dr. Tigner began his private practice career in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2006.
He has special interests in otolaryngic allergy and surgical disease of the nose and sinuses. He has furthered his training in those areas through several hands-on and didactic courses from innovative teachers in otolaryngic allergy and advanced endoscopic sinus techniques. In addition to the above interests, Dr. Tigner stays true to the basic tenets of otolaryngology, practicing the full scope of general ENT. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Tigner is passionate about the practice of medicine and the responsibility entailed. “One of the greatest pleasures of being a doctor is the connection formed with so many wonderful people,” said Dr. Tigner. “You have the opportunity to make a positive impact on so many individuals and your community. I believe this is my responsibility, and I don’t take this privilege for granted.”
He is currently on staff at Blount Memorial Hospital, East Tennessee Children’s, Tennova Hospital at Turkey Creek.
